Josh Sayer, one of my brother's best friends, passed away in his sleep last night. I believe he had recently turned 18 years old.
I Just cannot believe something like this happened. The fact it happened just before christmas. The fact that neither his friends or his poor family didn't get the chance to say goodbye, and will not get the chance to see him grow up.
I never got to meet Josh, only briefly talked to him on Xbox live, but my brother talked about him all the time, and from what he said about him i could tell he was a great person and a great friend.
This really puts what pathetic little "problems" that i, and countless other people THINK they have, into perspective. When people get upset that a few things don't go their way, imagine how 2 parents feel now that they will never get to kiss, hug or even see their son again. It really brings home how sellfish and self-centred i am, knowing that life can end just like that.
R.I.P Josh Sayer, FOSM, JSMTN - my prayers are with you and your family & friends.

Hallelujah - how it is supposed to sound
Of all the artists to cover Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, Jeff Buckley's version is head and shoulders above the rest.

Hardcore Drive-by
Fucking ridiculous. I love how the strategically placed 'bystanders' jump into action out of nowhere.

Adam Lazzara of Taking Back Sunday
Covering The Killers 'when you were young'. Beautiful. Sorry it's a bit quiet. Reminds me, should really finish the cover me and Rob did of this song.

Music
Original version of RoboCop, by Kanye West. Better than the album version in my opinion. I don't know why Daft Punk are in that picture, but it looks cool.
808's & Heartbreak
The alternative cover by KAWS. This album is incredible. Different, but incredible. Bit of a shame that RoboCop has been re-done, complete with annoying Strings in the verse. But the 2 songs either side of it, Paraniod & Street Lights, are the best on the album. Ye's bringing 808's back. I love Autotune. And this album.

K.O.L
This band is amazing. Out of the 70-something bands i've been lucky enough to see live, their set at Reading 2007 may be the best i've seen. Now i think of it, i don't think i've heard a properly bad KOL song.
I really hope they don't become one of those bands who people start to hate because they become to big/popular (like fucking NME is starting to), because they deserve every bit of their success.

"Let's get silly". The Woody Allen impression is priceless. Sorry for the annoying Hulu stuff.
Best Simpsons episode ever ?
Homer's stretching competition with those guys is funny, but this bit takes the cake.
Past "Crazes"
Been ill for a few days, but nothing that was keeping me down for long. For some reason got thinking about all the Fads i have experienced over my years, and feel compelled to share them with you. Random i know, but here they are:
1. Tazos - These things came and went so fast ! I remember Sylvester the cat being so very rare.
2. Pogs - I thought pogs were the bomb in the mid-90's. Now i detest them.
4. Pokemon Cards - The year 2000 was the year of these babies for me. Never new how to play the game, too complicated for folk like me. Just liked the pictures on the cards. How Prideaux managed to get the card above i will never know, that thing was like gold dust.
5. WWF - This one is questionable i know, but many were obsessed with wrestling. We used to make a wrestling ring in my living room, then throw each other off the sofa. My brother found out he was cool, when he picked up my 6 foot 6, 12.5 stone friend over his head and powerslammed him, when he was 11 years old.

Classic Youtube
Nothing cures the illness blues like some classic youtube vids. I remember this one from years ago. This song is a 90's classic.

The Office, USA style
This programme cannot get any better. I loves it.
All you Office purists who dismiss the US version should really watch it. Its great. This video is a compilation of Jim's pranks on Dwight (Dwight is the equivalent of Gareth from the original, Jim is the equivalent of Tim). Good stuff.
Lest we forget....
Un.Believable
From NME.com -
"characters from channel 4 series Hollyoaks are set to release a real single.
The Dirty Diego's - a fictional band in the series - release single 'play' on November 24.
The band feature the soaps characters Josh Ashworth on lead guitar, Michaele McQueen on lead vocals, Sasha Valentine on keyboards & Amy Barnes on drums"
This has got to be a crime, right? An act of terrorism on our ears. Besides, nothing will beat Ross Kemp as far as soap/music careers go.
This Game cannot be beaten
from all the way back in 1996. The 2007 remake butchered this level. I still play this game today.
