FOSM

Josh Sayer, one of my brother's best friends, passed away in his sleep last night. I believe he had recently turned 18 years old.
I Just cannot believe something like this happened. The fact it happened just before christmas. The fact that neither his friends or his poor family didn't get the chance to say goodbye, and will not get the chance to see him grow up.
I never got to meet Josh, only briefly talked to him on Xbox live, but my brother talked about him all the time, and from what he said about him i could tell he was a great person and a great friend.
This really puts what pathetic little "problems" that i, and countless other people THINK they have, into perspective. When people get upset that a few things don't go their way, imagine how 2 parents feel now that they will never get to kiss, hug or even see their son again. It really brings home how sellfish and self-centred i am, knowing that life can end just like that.

R.I.P Josh Sayer, FOSM, JSMTN - my prayers are with you and your family & friends.

Hallelujah - how it is supposed to sound

Of all the artists to cover Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, Jeff Buckley's version is head and shoulders above the rest.

Alchohol + Sugary Sweets = Treats

I am so making some Skittles Vodka when i get home. A better tasting rainbow, one can only assume.

Sunday 7 December 2008

Club 33

This is the elevator, hidden in Disneyland, that goes up to Club 33. A gold membership is around $10,000. Want one ? Well there's a 14 YEAR WAITING LIST. Insane.

Christmas

Is the best time of the year. I LOVE it. But this year i have a feeling it's going to be different. And not good different either.

Wednesday 3 December 2008

less than 2 weeks to wait

NME = 8/10
The Observer = 8/10
Rocksound = 8/10
Blender = 8/10
Alternative Press = 7/10

Much better reviews than Infinity on High, and i freaking loved that album. I have high hopes, and i know i definitely wont be dissapointed.

Am Diggin' this song at the moment

Blur - Tender

Crisis Averted

Miranda Kerr is not getting married to Orlando Bloom. There is still hope haha !

Band of Brothers

One of the best TV shows ever. I can think of another programme on a scale as large as this. Damien Lewis is Bad-ass.

Sunday 30 November 2008

Hardcore Drive-by

Fucking ridiculous. I love how the strategically placed 'bystanders' jump into action out of nowhere.

Music

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Maps

Cannot Believe It

Miranda Kerr is engaged :(...............to Orlando friggin Bloom !!! Gah, nothing in life is fair.

Saturday 29 November 2008

A Real- Life RickRoll !!!

A Float from Macy's thanksgiving parade is graced with the presence of Rick Astley himself !!! you must watch.

Adam Lazzara of Taking Back Sunday

Covering The Killers 'when you were young'. Beautiful. Sorry it's a bit quiet. Reminds me, should really finish the cover me and Rob did of this song.

Monday 24 November 2008

Music

Original version of RoboCop, by Kanye West. Better than the album version in my opinion. I don't know why Daft Punk are in that picture, but it looks cool.

808's & Heartbreak

The alternative cover by KAWS. This album is incredible. Different, but incredible. Bit of a shame that RoboCop has been re-done, complete with annoying Strings in the verse. But the 2 songs either side of it, Paraniod & Street Lights, are the best on the album. Ye's bringing 808's back. I love Autotune. And this album.

Remember the days when....

...She was pretty, talented and actually have something resembling a career ? Where is she now ? Oh yeah, off smoking loads of weed and pissing everyone off.

New York City 3

Christmas Present ? (hint hint)

Adidas "candy tresspasser". Good lookin' watch, rediculous name.

Another day.....

....another Miranda Kerr picture.

Cunt

Blake Fielder-Civil, the winner of my totalcompleteanduttercunt award.

Effort

The Hong Kong store for Billionaire Boys Club/Ice Cream, Pharrell Williams' clothing & shoe company. The whole ice-cream-shop-but-with-shoes-not-ice-cream thing is incredible.

N.E.R.D Bapeheads

(L to R) Shay, Pharrell, Chad.

Too cool

Even Spongebob & Patrick like BAPE/Baby Milo

I wonder what they even talked about?!

Kanye West & Jonah Hill

The mother of all crossovers

BAPE Adidas Superstars. Extremely limited - this is pair 500 of 500.

BAPE Pepsi can

Probably tastes 10x better than normal Pepsi. I know that's not "scientifically" possible - maybe your mind tricks you or something.

I'm re-discovering my love for BAPE today

Cue many BAPE related posts.
This is the BAPE store in Hong Kong. God i wish my floor was like that.

Incredible

It's times like this i wonder why i bother "playing" my guitar. This is incredible.

New York City 2

Miranda Kerr.......again

Joshua Homme

K.O.L

This band is amazing. Out of the 70-something bands i've been lucky enough to see live, their set at Reading 2007 may be the best i've seen. Now i think of it, i don't think i've heard a properly bad KOL song.
I really hope they don't become one of those bands who people start to hate because they become to big/popular (like fucking NME is starting to), because they deserve every bit of their success.

Guitars

Italia Guitars - Maranello Speedster, around £200. Saw this in the giant guitar shop in London last year and finally found out what it is.

Captain Fantastic

'Tis a good night. Matthew Upson of all people gets the first. Terry gets the winner = 2-1. Germany booed off by their own fans. Result.

Piccadilly Circus

I'll admit it looks better when your standing in front of it, seeing it with your own eyes. But it's no Times Square. Or seemingly any street in Tokyo.

Times Square (Pic 1)

"The crossroads of the world".......or something. I wanna go there. I say pic 1 because i will be putting up many more - i like the way it looks at night. The closest i have to this is Piccadilly Circus, 100 miles away.

Luke Chueh

Pretty cool/fucking disturbed artist. www.lukechueh.com

Continuing the Rainier Wolfcastle theme

"Let's get silly". The Woody Allen impression is priceless. Sorry for the annoying Hulu stuff.

Best Simpsons episode ever ?

Homer's stretching competition with those guys is funny, but this bit takes the cake.

The Strokes - Room on Fire

I Love this album, i always seem to listen to it repeatedly around this time of year.

Past "Crazes"

Been ill for a few days, but nothing that was keeping me down for long. For some reason got thinking about all the Fads i have experienced over my years, and feel compelled to share them with you. Random i know, but here they are:

1. Tazos - These things came and went so fast ! I remember Sylvester the cat being so very rare.

2. Pogs - I thought pogs were the bomb in the mid-90's. Now i detest them.

3. Football stickers - This was probably my favourite craze. The lads in my primary school went crazy for these things. The 1995 album was the first one i got. I always remember the West Ham team was so friggin' hard to find, but our teacher had all of them stuck on her board. I used to get so upset when Mum wouldn't buy me one 30p pack, but then Dad would come home with 10. Simpler times.

4. Pokemon Cards - The year 2000 was the year of these babies for me. Never new how to play the game, too complicated for folk like me. Just liked the pictures on the cards. How Prideaux managed to get the card above i will never know, that thing was like gold dust.

5. WWF - This one is questionable i know, but many were obsessed with wrestling. We used to make a wrestling ring in my living room, then throw each other off the sofa. My brother found out he was cool, when he picked up my 6 foot 6, 12.5 stone friend over his head and powerslammed him, when he was 11 years old.

Classic Youtube

Nothing cures the illness blues like some classic youtube vids. I remember this one from years ago. This song is a 90's classic.

Wowzers !!!

Miranda Kerr. She hawt.

Saturday 15 November 2008

The Office, USA style

This programme cannot get any better. I loves it.
All you Office purists who dismiss the US version should really watch it. Its great. This video is a compilation of Jim's pranks on Dwight (Dwight is the equivalent of Gareth from the original, Jim is the equivalent of Tim). Good stuff.

Lest we forget....

Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 100th Goal for Manchester United today, with a free-kick. Then he went and scored another free-kick to make it 101 goals. They beat Stoke City 5 - 0. Congrats !!!

Nicolas Anelka

Lad's got game at the moment. 14 goals so far this season.

"Keep a calendar, this way you will always know..."

December 15th is THE date in my diary. 30 days to go.

Un.Believable

From NME.com -

"characters from channel 4 series Hollyoaks are set to release a real single.
The Dirty Diego's - a fictional band in the series - release single 'play' on November 24.
The band feature the soaps characters Josh Ashworth on lead guitar, Michaele McQueen on lead vocals, Sasha Valentine on keyboards & Amy Barnes on drums"

This has got to be a crime, right? An act of terrorism on our ears. Besides, nothing will beat Ross Kemp as far as soap/music careers go.

Is This..........

...the best in the world ?

Daft Punk

remind me to see these guys live. I must see the pyramid with my own eyes.

The needle in the haystack

Find me a pair of these shoes, and i will explode. So nice. impossibly hard to find.

New York City

I HAVE to live here someday.

This Game cannot be beaten

from all the way back in 1996. The 2007 remake butchered this level. I still play this game today.

Home

This is where i live. Note the 5 feet of  empty space i can do whatever i want with. I'm thinkin' a Bear-skin rug.
And yes, that is a PS2.

Greetings

Now you, my loyal subjects, have access to my innermost thoughts - whenever, wherever.

it's bound to be amazing, right ?
